The Sacramento Metropolitan Fire District responded Thursday night to a fire at a building in an industrial complex on Folsom Boulevard in Rancho Cordova. The fire is located in the area of Folsom Boulevard and Mercantile Drive. Flame from the fire tore through the roof of the building, Sac Metro Fire confirmed. The Folsom Fire Department is also responding. Crews prevented a grass fire from damaging homes in south Sacramento on Thursday night. The fire was reported just before 9:20 p.m. in the 1900 block of Leford Way near Richfield Way in the Meadowview area, the Sacramento Fire Department said. An “aggressive fire attack” prevented any damage to the homes nearby, the fire department said. The fire was contained to about 1.5 acres.
