Some Sacramento County residents say they are seeing an infestation of insects, specifically grasshoppers. Alicia Perry said she started seeing the grasshoppers in her Rancho Cordova yard about two weeks ago. “They’re still hatching because I’m still finding little nymphs. It’s not like it’s just one hatching and it’s going to be done. They’re still hatching,” Perry said. Since she first noticed the bugs a couple of weeks ago, the swarm has grown to thousands in her yard. The critters aren’t just in Rancho Cordova. Pest control companies are also getting calls from residents in Roseville and south Sacramento. DeNeeka Hill reports. Family and friends of a Sacramento bail bondsman who was beaten to death while working downtown earlier this week gathered at City Hall on Thursday to demand change. Kevin Brace, 56, worked at Greg Padilla Bail Bonds on I Street. Officers responded to the area just after 4 p.m. Monday morning for reports of an assault. Brace died at the scene. Jacob Mandell, 38, is charged with his death. Sacramento police have said they are investigating a motive for the killing. Sacramento police said 17-year-old Isabel Gallego was last seen on April 19. A 17-year-old Stockton teen was killed Wednesday night in a car crash near Tracy, California Highway Patrol said. The crash happened on eastbound Interstate 205 west of El Rancho Road. A witness told CHP two vehicles were traveling at high-speeds in and out of traffic. The car driven by the 17-year-old was switching lanes when it sideswiped another vehicle driven by a 62-year-old Plymouth man, CHP said.
