So dominant for much of last season, the A’s bullpen has not been able to match that success in 2019. Friday night’s opener of a three-game series against Houston at the Coliseum provided another example of that. Leading off the eighth inning, Derek Fisher broke a 2-2 tie with a homer off Lou Trivino to left-center. The Astros picked up a 3-2 victory, handing the A’s their third straight loss and dropping Oakland 8½ games back of first-place Houston in the AL West.
