LAPD SUV stolen in downtown LA

A Los Angeles Police Department patrol SUV was stolen early Sunday in downtown LA. An officer was ejected from the stolen SUV during a brief chase, which ended when the driver crashed into several vehicles at an intersection. The driver was taken into custody at the scene. The officer’s injuries were not considered life-threatening.

A 30-year-old man was arrested after allegedly plowing an SUV into street barricades, two businesses and another vehicle in Palm Springs before fleeing the scene, police said Saturday.⁠ ⁠ Police said the vehicle continued along a walkway between businesses in the vicinity, colliding with the rear window of a business at the end of the walkway. The driver then attempted to turn the vehicle around, allegedly causing extensive damage to the interior of another business.⁠ Police say the driver was booked on charges of hit-and-run, vandalism and DUI.

A dispute between two street vendors in Van Nuys gained an 83-year-old woman the support from her community.⁠ ⁠ Fidelia Hernandez, was out selling flowers on the corner of Sherman Way and Sepulveda when another street vendor reported her to police.⁠ ⁠ That’s when a good Samaritan, Nelson Gonzalez, owner of Pupusa Express, stepped in to help and started recording.⁠ ⁠ Thanks to that viral video, people not only bought flowers from Hernandez, but they also gave her donations and serenaded her on Mother’s Day.⁠

A curious #dog got herself into a tight situation after she got stuck in a wall. After the family did their best to convince their dog, Faye, to come out, they had to get some extra help. Firefighters with the OC Fire Authority carefully made an opening in the wall using a hammer and gave Faye enough encouragement to get her out.
