11 nonprofit food banks, pantries helped by massive food distribution in Elk Grove

Several food banks, pantries, and closets from across Sacramento County received much-needed donations Thursday. The Just Serve organization coordinated, what it calls, a surplus food truck distribution at Cosumnes River College. Organizers say the food came in on a truck from Welfare Square in Salt Lake City, Utah, which is affiliated with the LDS church, and whose members donated food and money to help stock the truck.
