It’s beginning to look like Christmas in Old Sacramento. The arrival of this year’s tree along the Old Sacramento Waterfront Thursday marks the beginning of the holiday season in the central city area. The 60-foot tapered white fir tree was cut in Siskiyou County, and according to the Downtown Sacramento Partnership, it was cut from above the snow line to ensure freshness through the holiday season. The tree is about 35-40 years old and weighs 12,000 pounds.
