HAPPY STAR TREK DAY: ON STAR TREK’S 60TH BIRTHDAY, RECALLING HOW STAR TREK FORMED LIFE-LONG-FRIENDSToday, September 8th, 2026, I stop to celebrate the 60th Birthday of Star Trek and recall the greatest gift being a trekker has brought to me: life-long friends. It started for me when I started watching the show when I was 6 years old, and that was the third season of the show in 1968. Then, they took it off just as I was growing the next year 1969. A couple of years went by and in 1971, I recall the Star Trek Re-Runs started, In 1975, my first year at Bret Harte Junior High, I had an idea for a Star Trek Club, and a friend introduced me to Bill Boyd and Lars Frkyman, who also had an idea for a Star Trek Club. That led to us joining with other classmates like Craig Pryor, Kelly Wissmar, Jullie Hoffman, Mark Frame, and many more.We took our love for Star Trek and worked the first Northern California Star Trek Convention. We also were regulars at a store called The Federation Trading Post. I was never into cosplay, but I loved getting my hands on the Star Trek Technical Manual,I will share the rest of the story in this Star Trek Day Livestream.🎙️ New to streaming or looking to level up?
