Cue the mouth-watering smoked-meat aroma. The long-awaited East Bay expansion of San Francisco chef Ryan Farr’s 4505 Burgers & BBQ — announced more than a year ago — is finally coming to fruition, with Farr and team renovating a 1950s-era eatery in Oakland’s Laurel District. At this site, Farr, a noted whole-animal butchery expert, will have room for a permanent “pig rig” for smoking whole hogs 24/7 over California oak.
