Las Vegas Stadium Authority Meeting Shows Oakland Raiders Problem With Minority Hiring For NFL Stadi

The Oakland Raiders have worked to lay the groundwork for the construction of their controversial new stadium in Las Vegas. All of this started with the passage of a Nevada Bill called The Southern Nevada Tourism and Investment Act, and approving a $750 million public subsidy to help pay for the sports event center. The law also calls for minority hiring.

Most minority hiring agreements have a set of numerical goals, but judging from this exchange between Oakland Raiders Lawyer Dan Ventrelle and Las Vegas Stadium Authority Board Members, at the November 9th 2017 meeting, the Silver and Black don’t want to be tied to numerical goals – leading to a thorny, nasty, and to this video upload date, unresolved problem – and an incomplete community benefits plan
