Steve Sue Interview With Hawaii’s Shaka Guy, Social Venturer Chair Of Bizgenics And Long Time Friend
In 1997, I met Steve Sue when he was part of a development partnership to build a location-based entertainment complex in Downtown Oakland, and I was the Economic Advisor to the Mayor of Oakland. We lost touch over a long period, but kept trying to reconnect, like in 2021 when he posted on Linkedin ““Hey brother Zennie! Thx for posting this. Very encouraging! Would love to catch up with you a bit… been many moons….”. And then lost touch again.
But this time a mutual friend Nancy Lueck posted a photo of what seemed to be a party she was at in Honolulu. One of the faces in the photo looked familar. Then she asked me if I knew “Steve Sue” and I responded excitedly. The photo included Steve. So, we talked on the phone and that’s when I learned about his new role as the “Shaka Guy”. Plus, he’s working on a documentary about him as the Shaka Guy.
The Shaka Guy has to be understood by knowing what “Shaka” is. One reference in Wikipedia says “Residents of Hawaii use the shaka to convey the “Aloha Spirit”, a concept of friendship, understanding, compassion, and solidarity among the various ethnic cultures that reside in Hawaii, lacking a direct semantic to literal translation. ” But there’s a deeper story that Steve’s going to tell us.

We have found there is a disconnect between post length and time to product and revenue generated. With this, the problem is far less, though by no means solved. Zennie62Media is constantly working to improve the system network coding and seeks interested content and media technology partners. This process is entirely within YouTube terms of service, where embedding of videos for use on websites and platforms is allowed and encouraged.
