UH soccer looks to build momentum as Big West play begins

The University of Hawaii women’s soccer team (3-6) returns home after a challenging two-week road trip in the Pacific Northwest, where they avoided a sweep with a crucial win over Portland State.

That victory provides a much-needed boost as the Rainbow Wahine gear up for the start of Big West Conference play, which begins Thursday against UC Davis (7-2).

A key contributor to Hawaii’s success has been midfielder Nalani Damacion, who was named Big West Freshman of the Week. Damacion has netted the game-winning goal in all three of Hawaii’s victories this season.

Rainbow Warriors look to rebound against Northern Iowa

The University of Hawai‘i Rainbow Warrior football team, sitting at 1-2, will aim to bounce back when they face Northern Iowa on Saturday night at the Clarence T.C. Ching Complex.

This comes after a disappointing 31-13 loss at Sam Houston last weekend, where the Warriors’ offense struggled to find a rhythm.

Quarterback Brayden Schager completed just 50% of his passes, while the running game was limited to a mere 56 yards on 21 carries. Adding to the frustration, Hawai‘i was flagged for 14 penalties throughout the game.
