It broke out just before 2:30 at a home along Sunrise Greens Drive near Florin High School. Sacramento County sheriff’s deputies actually spotted the fire first. Lost hiker rescued near Mount Tallac in El Dorado County

A lost hiker was rescued near the top of Mount Tallac in the Sierra. Tahoe search and rescue said the first call came in around midnight on Thursday. They said the hiker wasn’t prepared for the cold temperatures and couldn’t find their way down the snowy trail. The arrival of this year’s tree along the Old Sacramento Waterfront Thursday marks the beginning of the holiday season in the central city area. The 60-foot tapered white fir tree was cut in Siskiyou County, and according to the Downtown Sacramento Partnership, it was cut from above the snow line to ensure freshness through the holiday season.
