Drew Lock, Denver Broncos 2019 NFL Draft QB, Says What Avenger He Would Be

Drew Lock, Denver Broncos 2019 NFL Draft Rookie QB, Says What Avenger He Would Be

Drew Lock, former Missouri QB, now the NFL Draft 2nd Round Pick of the Denver Broncos, fielded a lot of questions at his press conference yesterday. But one he had to think about was asked by Zennie62Media’s Zennie Abraham: “Who would you be if you were a member of MARVEL’s Avengers?”

His answer almost escaped him, but he said “It’s in my bio…Star-lord” referring to the character played by Chris Pratt in “Guardians of The Galaxy” and “The Avengers” movie series. And because Star-Lord says “I’m not from Earth, I’m from Missouri.”

By the way, the question was not paid for by MARVEL or any one else; it just seemed like a fun and different way to get to know the NFL Draft players. It was completely spontaneous at first, then seemed like a good question to break up the monotony.

Michele Byrd Fired By City Of Oakland Over News Interview On Rental Evictions

Michele Byrd Fired By City Of Oakland Over News Interview On Rental Evictions

In a story broke at Zennie62 on Twitter, The City of Oakland fired Housing and Community Development Director Michelle Byrd over an interview she gave to a news organization regarding the Oakland Rent Board and claims that she was not enforcing the city’s laws against illegal evictions.

The news came from an irate City of Oakland staff member who said that “no one in the City saw this coming. The news organization targeted her, even though it wasn’t her fault. They (the City Administration and the Mayor of Oakland) made her take the fall (for their jobs).”

The City Of Oakland Staffer I talked to didn’t know why Byrd agreed to talk to the news organization “We all wondered why someone didn’t talk to her about what to say.”

Indeed, in the City of Oakland’s “Strong Mayor” system, the Mayor hires the City Administrator, who then is to make sure the Mayor’s initiatives are carried out. If anything, Oakland Mayor Libby Schaaf should have been out there front and center in this story. But, in this case, it looks like she allowed Byrd to “take the hit” for her.

It’s something, the Byrd firing, that has put the City of Oakland’s Housing and Community Development, and Economic Development, departments in a whirlwind of reformation that is to see a new leader come in who was with the Department of Housing and Urban Development.

Not The Oakland Housing Authority

Also, it was not the Oakland Housing Authority (OHA) that was the focus of this report, as others wrongly reported, but the City of Oakland Department of Housing and Community Development. The OHA is ran by its executive director, Eric Johnson.

Also, the City of Oakland Staffer said that the person tabbed to replace her is white; Michelle Byrd is black.

Problem Goes Back To 2006, Before Byrd

The problem of the City of Oakland not enforcing illegal eviction laws goes back to 2006, and long before Michelle Byrd came to be Director, or for that matter Deputy Director. For the news organization to target Byrd was shameful – for the Mayor of Oakland or the City Adminsitrator to not back her was even worse.

This video explains both the Oakland Global Development and the Oakland Bulk & Oversized Terminal (OBOT) within it.

The video, a creation of both Insight Terminal Solutions (ITS) and California Capital Investment Group, shows the job creating advantage of Oakland Global OBOT, and how the creation of 150,000 square feet of space in the facility will take 14,000 trucks off the Oakland roads annually. Research shows that large trucks are the biggest contributor to black carbon emissions.

500 Lake Park Oakland Ugly, Market Rate Housing Lake Merritt Doesn’t Need

500 Lake Park Oakland Ugly, Market Rate Housing Lake Merritt Doesn’t Need.

Oakland Architect Ken Lowney’s design for 500 Lake Park Oakland, the Kwik Way Restaurant replacement, is way out of scale with the Lake Merritt / Grand area. Moreover, it brings 50 units of market rate housing when affordable housing is needed.

The design itself is ugly and looks like it was thrown together and like the developer is asking market rate for something that looks cheap. On top of that, Ken Lowney drew the building as if no black people ever existed in Oakland.

I hope this doesn’t get built.

Jon Gruden On Baker Mayfield, Derek Carr, NFL Draft 2019, Arden Key, at NFL Annual Meeting

At The 2019 NFL Annual Meeting, Jon Gruden, Oakland Raiders Head Coach, used a question about the Cleveland Browns to talk about Baker Mayfield, then talked about Derek Carr and how adding Antonio Brown and Trent Brown would hopefully help make Carr a “blue chip” quarterback.

Then Coach Gruden talked about how one does not at all know what kind of player they’re getting from the NFL Draft, mentioning Ohio State’s Nick Bosa and his overall lack of playing time last year. Then, Gruden talked about how his current defensive end Arden Key needed to develop and get stronger.

Grand Lake Theater Marquee Oakland Condemns New Zealand Shooting

Alan Michaan, owner of Oakland’s Grand Lake Theater took a stand against racism via his movie theater’s marquee. The new message reads “We condemn New Zealand Racism” and referring to the horrible double mass shootings at two mosques in that country, and done by a white supremacist.

For those not familiar with the Grand Lake Theater or Alan Michaan, the movie palace has been around since the 20s; Alan’s use of the marquee for more than just movie titles started in 2004, when he announced he would not enforce the R-rating given Fahrenheit 911, Michael Moore’s documentary movie.
