MJ Monesha Carter Officially Runs For Oakland Mayor 2022, 16th Candidate, 3rd Black Woman
Remember the vlogs posted at Zennie62 YouTube and Oakland News Now Blog and Oakland News Online and Oakland Focus Blogs about an MJ Carter and her YouTube videos announcing her run for Mayor of Oakland – only she never filed? Well, MJ Carter is for real now. She filed on June 15th 2022.
Ms. Carter marks the 16th candidate and 3rd black woman to run for Mayor of Oakland for 2022. She joins Oakland District 7 Councilwoman Treva Reid and Oakland Lawyer Activist Alyssa Victory
I also happened upon this sad news from 2011 according to the High Dessert Advocate:
A California woman who was the subject of a regional missing person search in under criminal investigation, confirmed West Wendover Police sergeant David Wiskerchen Wednesday.
Monesha “Jemia” Carter was found safe and in good condition a little after midnight Tuesday morning about six hours after she was reported missing by her frantic 14-year old son. According to Wiskerchen Carter was found at the America’s Best Value Motel, the same motel where she had originally rented a room.

The rest of the news item reported that the criminal investigation went no where. She and her son left after being reunited.
This reads like the start of a good comeback story.
