Bank fraud charges announced against former Dodger interpreter

Federal authorities on Thursday announced bank fraud charges against Ippei Mizhuhari, the former Dodger interpreter for Shohei Ohtani. Prosecutors claim that Mizuhara used $16 million stolen from Ohtani’s account to finance what they described as a “voracious appetite” for illegal gambling. Prosecutors said there is no evidence Ohtani authorized the transfers from his account. They said the baseball superstar is a victim in the case.
