The California State Treasurer’s Office is involved in a federal investigation, multiple sources told KCRA 3 on Monday. Sources who spoke on the condition they remain anonymous told KCRA 3 the FBI contacted the Treasurer’s office on Monday requesting information. A spokesman for State Treasurer Fiona Ma confirmed that it had been contacted by a law enforcement agency seeking documents and that it is cooperating. The spokesman could not say if the documents were related to the office itself or Fiona Ma in particular.
