Driver killed in train crash

A man died after he was hit by a train in Stockton, police said Wednesday. The crash happened Sunday around 2:53 a.m. at Waterloo Road and Hiawatha Avenue, police said. Officers who went there found a 27-year-old driver dead at the scene. The police department’s traffic unit is investigating the crash. No details on the cause of the crash have been released. Sacramento Homeless Union to sue city over Camp Resolution threat

Homeless advocates are suing the city of Sacramento in discussions over a self-governing encampment known as Camp Resolution, according to a release from the Sacramento Homeless Union. The release accuses the city of “Breach of Contract, Breach of the Duty of Good Faith and Fair Dealing, Tortious Interference and for Specific Performance.” In a lawsuit, the Homeless Union will ask the court to issue a preliminary injunction stopping the City from moving forward with closing Camp Resolution. Camp Resolution is a designated area off Colfax Street where dozens of transient vehicles are parked within a gated area.
