McClymonds High School Oakland Closed Temporarily For Testing For Toxic Substance
Oakland, CA — OUSD is holding a news conference this afternoon to discuss the reasons behind the temporary closure of McClymonds High School for the health and safety of our students and staff. This is related to the chemical tricloroethylene (TCE) being found in groundwater – not drinking water – under the campus.
State and county officials say the chemical’s site of origin is offsite, possibly a nearby business.
WHAT: Press Conference Regarding Temporary School Closure
