Oakland Clothing Maker Moves To City Hall Plaza

Jim Copes, the former Oakland Chamber of Commerce Exec who created the name “Oaktown”, announces that he is moving to Downtown Oakland.

“Old School Copes”, the clothing brand best known for Oakland-themed t-shirts, is moving to Oakland City Hall Plaza, also called Oscar Grant Plaza, and Frank Ogawa Plaza.

“I will be opening up in that green kiosk in the plaza,” Jim Copes said, “around the 1st of May.”

It’s the first rental space Old School Copes has acquired in its history. The brand is a fixture on Grand Avenue next to The Lake Merritt Farmers Market and at Oakland festivals.
