A source told me last night that Oakland Councilmember Rebecca Kaplan is considering a run for Mayor of Oakland – once again.
Could the third time be the charm against Oakland Mayor Libby Schaaf? Kaplan has ran for Mayor two times: in 2010 and 2014. She lost to Jean Quan and then to Libby Schaaf, but has been re-elected as At-Large Councilmember three times: 2008, 2012, and 2016.
