Las Vegas Stadium Authority Meeting Points To Cover-Up Of NFL Oakland Raiders Problems

Las Vegas Stadium Authority Meeting Points To Cover-Up Of Oakland Raiders Problems

The Las Vegas Stadium Authority did a great job in putting a positive face forward at today’s meeting at UNLV.

But the act was just that. The problems were revealed by Oakland Raiders President Marc Badain himself when he thanked Clark County Commissioner Steve Sisolak and others for “lighting a fire under” his ass (as he put it) and moving the stadium planning process along.

That’s very unusual that a government pushes a developer, but that’s what was revealed to be the case by Badain. Have the Raiders lost excitement for their Las Vegas NFL Stadium Project?

Then, there was the complete lack of discussion of hotel stadium tax revenues for November – we have had the October numbers for a few weeks now. Generally, we get the tax revenue numbers from the previous month by this time – not so, today. Could it be that November stadium tax revenue numbers are worse than October’s?

And then there’s the Community Benefits issue – a lot of glad-handing but no clear idea of how long it’s going to take to get the deal done in that case.

There are more problems, but they were not brought up in a meeting that was dressed up to look like a love fest. All the better to mask the impending doom of bad news that is upon them.

Stay tuned.
